Collapsing Home Saved in Detroit!

Kyle Dubay, 34, and Bo Shepherd, 32, run Woodward Throwbacks, a renowned Detroit store specializing in unique furniture and household items crafted from reclaimed materials. They recently transformed an abandoned three-story home in Detroit’s North End, known for its African American small businesses and churches. Acquired from The Detroit Land Bank Authority in 2019 for $6,500, they invested about $300,000 over three years into its renovation, with support from family, friends, and local businesses. Last month, they sold the refurbished home for $410,000, showcasing its incredible transformation with recycled materials.
